College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, offering nine associate degrees and a wide variety of professional and technical certificates.
Responsibilities
- Provide general office support, including clerical activities and related tasks.
- Answer multi-line telephone, screen and direct calls; provide information to callers; record and distribute messages to administrators, faculty, and staff.
- Greet persons approaching desk, direct to correct destination, and schedule appointments.
- Prepare correspondence and documents as needed.
- Monitor and maintain office equipment; maintain an organized reception area, supply storage room, and workroom.
- Maintain communication with student employees; manage general office files (at desk and in common areas).
- Manage office supply inventory; process work orders and purchase requisitions; accept deliveries and disseminate to proper individuals; sort and distribute mail and deliveries.
- Verify student information while maintaining student privacy/confidentiality according to FERPA guidelines.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of College policy by reviewing Administrative Procedures and Board Policies; cultivate inter-departmental relationships to facilitate requests.
- Update procedure manuals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate Degree with some office technology/business courses preferred.
- 1 year of office experience required; knowledge of administrative/clerical procedures and customer service.
- 2 or more years of office experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- This position requires a background check.
Schedule
- Part-time, 20 hours/week between 8:00 am - 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Preferred hours: 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Pay
Starting salary beginning at $17.59/hourly, based on education and experience.
