Responsibilities
- Test hospitality skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide accurate and timely information and services to guests.
- Accurately communicate hotel rates and information during reservations.
- Use suggestive selling techniques to sell room nights and increase occupancy and revenue.
- Answer inquiries and accept reservations, both in person and by telephone.
- Close guest accounts and open rooms for the next sale.
- Calculate and post monies, receipts, and guest accounts using proper cash handling methods.
- Control cash transactions and maintain complete responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel bank agreement policy.
- Operate PBX equipment by accepting incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling, and setting wake-up calls.
- Communicate with guests to provide timely and efficient service.
- Maintain good customer relations by keeping up-to-date with in-house and area functions.
- Be able to read written communiques and monochrome computer screens.
- Understand and follow verbal/written instructions, work on multiple tasks, and communicate verbally and in writing.
- Stand for prolonged periods, bend and kneel repeatedly, and occasionally carry and lift up to 25 lbs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- No prior experience required.
- Mathematical aptitude and knowledge of standard cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of computerized cash register systems.
- Past experience in dealing directly with the public.
- Fluency in oral and written English.
- Tact and understanding when dealing with various customer service problems, including stressful and emotionally charged situations.
- Highly organized and able to pay attention to minute details.
Qualifications
