We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule sections only if content present. The posting includes many details: About the role (description), Responsibilities (what you will do, primary objectives, regular work activities, as needed, other half of the job: trust, what you must have, etc). Requirements: "What you must have". Qualifications: "Your experience and education". Skills: maybe "What you must have" includes skills. Benefits: "What you will get in return". Pay: not explicitly stated (only "Senior-level pay benchmarked to your market." That's a statement about pay but not specific numbers; we should not create Pay section unless posting actually states them. It says "Senior-level pay benchmarked to your market." That's a statement about pay but not a specific figure. The instruction: never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them. It does state "Senior-level pay benchmarked to your market." That's a statement about pay, albeit generic. Should we include Pay section? It says "Senior-level pay benchmarked to your market." That's a statement about pay. It's not a specific number but it's still stating pay. The instruction: "never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them." It does state something about pay, albeit generic. I'd include a Pay section with that sentence. Benefits: "What you will get in return" includes senior-level pay, fully remote work, team underneath you, generous vacation, company-wide shutdown, real path to partner. That's benefits. Schedule: Not explicitly stated; maybe "Fully remote work" but not schedule. No mention of hours, etc. So we omit Schedule.
We need headings:
About the role
,Responsibilities
,Requirements
,Qualifications
,Skills
,Benefits
,Pay
. Possibly also "About the position" but we use About the role. We must not repeat job title as heading. Use- for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. Use
for prose. We need to preserve all substantive information, not invent or summarize away detail. Remove boilerplate etc. The posting includes a lot of text; we need to extract relevant parts. We need to decide what goes into each section. About the role: likely the introductory paragraph about Eightx and the position description. Could be the "About the position" paragraph: "We're not looking for the CFO who hands in a P&L...". Also the earlier "About Eightx" maybe considered about the company, but we can include as part of About the role? The instruction: use
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So About the role likely includes description of role and company context. We'll include the "About Eightx" paragraph and the "About the position" paragraph. Responsibilities: include bullet points of what you will do: first 10 days, over next eight weeks, primary objectives, regular work activities, as needed, other half of the job: trust (maybe part of responsibilities). We'll structure as lists. Requirements: "What you must have" bullet list. Qualifications: "Your experience and education" bullet list. Skills: maybe combine some overlapping; but we can extract skills like "Strong three-statement, driver-based modelling", "Fluent business English", "Ability to coach and empathize", etc. Could be part of Requirements but we need a Skills section if there is content. The posting includes skills in "What you must have" and "Your experience and education". We could treat Skills as separate: list of skills like modelling, communication, coaching, etc. But to avoid duplication, we could put skills under Requirements and leave Skills empty? But we must not emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text. So if we include Skills heading, we need real specific content. We can extract skills: "Strong three-statement, driver-based modelling you can explain to someone who hates spreadsheets", "Fluent business English, spoken and written", "Ability to coach and empathize", "Experience running a weekly operating cadence", "You've coached or managed analysts and accountants". Those are skills. So we can make a Skills section with those. Benefits: "What you will get in return" bullet list. Pay: "Senior-level pay benchmarked to your market." plus maybe "We are moving our CFOs to a partnership model, so your upside grows with the clients you serve. We share numbers on the first call and put them in writing before anything else". That's about pay/upside. We'll include that. Now we need to strip boilerplate: cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, application instructions. The posting ends with "How to apply Apply through Factorial with your CV. Then: 1. Short video (2 to 3 minutes).</strong..." That's application instructions; we should remove. Also remove duplicated lines. Now craft HTML. We'll need to ensure we use
- for lists. We'll need to preserve all substantive information; not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to keep the details like day 2, day 5, etc. We'll keep them as list items. Let's draft. First, About the role: Combine: "Eightx We are the fractional CFO and finance department for fast-growing ecommerce and consumer brands in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe and Australia, mostly doing $3M to $150M in revenue. Our HQ and a managing partner are in Melbourne, and our team works across Canada, the US, England, Switzerland, India and the Philippines. We have one goal for every client: build a Bankable Brand. That is a business whose profit, cash and forecasts hold up when a lender, an investor, a buyer or the board tests them. As you might expect of a finance company, we work really hard when we need to, but we don't work hard just for the sake of it. We don't miss our kids' concerts, we work out during the day, and we usually sign off early on Fridays. About the position We're not looking for the CFO who hands in a P&L and walks the founder through last month's results. We're looking for one or two people who will help our clients build enterprise value, and who founders trust enough to call first when something goes wrong. If you're good, you already know this: Value = Earnings x Multiple Multiple = Growth + Quality - Risk $3M of EBITDA at 5x is a $15M business. $5M at 8x is $40M. Profit went up $2M. Value went up $25M. Most finance people work hard on earnings and put far less effort into the multiple. You will work on both: · Grow earnings. Contribution margin by channel and SKU, how much they can profitably spend on ads, pricing, inventory and cash. · Grow the right way. Durable, organic growth with healthy customer economics, not growth bought by pouring money into Meta. · Prove the quality of their earnings. Provable, contractual, repeatable. Good LTV, good margins. Ideally, economics in the top quartile of their industry. · Take out risk. Customer, channel and supplier concentration, a founder who approves everything, books a buyer can't verify. Each one is a discount on the multiple. You will be half finance expert, half coach. You'll carry a portfolio of about 10 clients at full load (built up as you onboard), with senior and junior analysts building the models and our accounting team, led by our Accounting Services Director, owning the close. You'll be trained and led directly by Matt." We could keep the bullet points as list. Now Responsibilities: include first 10 days, over next eight weeks, primary objectives, regular work activities, as needed, other half of the job: trust. We'll break into sub-sections? But we just need a list under Responsibilities. Could combine all bullet points. Let's extract bullet points: First 10 days with every new client: - Day 2: a profit tracker the founder can open every day - Day 5: the main constraint, named and sized - Day 7: the financial model - Day 10: the full Growth Economics Audit, walked through with the founder Over the next eight weeks you build the full financial plan: revenue, COGS and purchasing, payroll and overheads, cash, budget, balance sheet, then a multi-year plan. By week twelve the client has department scorecards and a capital allocation framework, and the rhythm is running. Primary objectives (20% big rocks): - See: map the funnel from traffic to repeat customer with the money that survives each step, build a one-page scorecard of the three or four numbers that decide the year, and name the risks. - Decide: find the one constraint holding the business back, and put money and people where that constraint is, with a number behind every big yes. Keep a three-year model that's updated, not written once. - Align: every number that matters gets one owner, every department head can state their quarterly goal as a number, and the rhythm runs (the weekly meeting, the monthly review, the quarter, the year). - Prepare clients for lenders, investors, due diligence and exits, and sit in the room when those conversations happen. Regular work activities (80%): - A weekly working session with each founder, plus the scorecard review: what's red, who owns it, what changes this week - Monthly review of the close and the model, and a clear read on cash - Decisions on the big questions: ad spend ceilings, inventory buys, hires, funding - When a number moves the wrong way: measure it, diagnose it, model the options and help the founder decide. An accountant stops after "measure". You don't. - Review and direct the work of the analysts and accountants on your clients - Same-day replies to client messages As needed: - Interim CFO placements (typically 3 to 6 months while a client hires full-time) - Lender underwriting calls, investor updates, board meetings, data rooms and quality of earnings prep - Help on sales calls and client proposals when a prospect needs to meet their CFO Other half of the job: trust (maybe include description of trust equation). Could be part of Responsibilities. We'll include as list items. Now Requirements: "What you must have" bullet list: - 10+ years in finance, including time as a CFO, VP Finance or head of FP&A in a growth company, or a PE, investment banking or transaction advisory background plus real operating experience - Strong three-statement, driver-based modelling you can explain to someone who hates spreadsheets - You've sat across the table from lenders, investors or acquirers: a raise, a refinance, a quality of earnings review, due diligence or an exit - You understand what drives a multiple, and you've helped a business improve one - Fluent business English, spoken and written - The ability to coach and empathize: founders and CEOs have acted on your advice, not just received your reports - Based in the US, Canada, the UK or Europe, with good overlap with North American business hours Now Qualifications: "Your experience and education" bullet list: - Ecommerce, DTC or CPG experience strongly preferred: contribution margin, CAC and payback, cohorts, inventory and cash conversion, Shopify and Amazon - CPA, CA, ACCA or CFA, or an MBA - Experience running a weekly operating cadence (EOS, scorecards, L10s or similar) - You've coached or managed analysts and accountants Now Skills: we can
