Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using approved scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Track progress, update schedules, and analyze variances to ensure alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, cost controllers, and contractors to collect and validate schedule data.
- Conduct critical path analysis and identify schedule risks, delays, and opportunities for optimization.
- Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc schedule reports with clear visuals, progress updates, and forecasts.
- Support project controls processes including earned value management (EVM), progress measurement, and integrated planning.
- Aid in developing baseline schedules and change management documentation.
- Ensure scheduling standards, coding structures, and best practices are consistently applied across all projects.
- Participate in project meetings, technical reviews, and risk assessments, providing schedule insights and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field required.
- 3–7 years of experience in project scheduling, preferably within mining, heavy industrial, or large-scale construction preferred.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 required; experience with MS Project or other scheduling tools preferred.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, project controls, and earned value methodologies preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams required.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in schedule development and reporting required.
- Experience working on capital projects in open pit, underground, processing, or infrastructure environments preferred.
- Familiarity with cost control, budgeting, and risk management processes preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple schedules across several active projects preferred.
- Professional certifications such as PSP (AACE), PMI-SP, or PMP considered an asset.
