Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using approved scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Track progress, update schedules, and analyze variances to ensure alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, cost controllers, and contractors to collect and validate schedule data.
  • Conduct critical path analysis and identify schedule risks, delays, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc schedule reports with clear visuals, progress updates, and forecasts.
  • Support project controls processes including earned value management (EVM), progress measurement, and integrated planning.
  • Aid in developing baseline schedules and change management documentation.
  • Ensure scheduling standards, coding structures, and best practices are consistently applied across all projects.
  • Participate in project meetings, technical reviews, and risk assessments, providing schedule insights and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field required.
  • 3–7 years of experience in project scheduling, preferably within mining, heavy industrial, or large-scale construction preferred.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 required; experience with MS Project or other scheduling tools preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, project controls, and earned value methodologies preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams required.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in schedule development and reporting required.
  • Experience working on capital projects in open pit, underground, processing, or infrastructure environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with cost control, budgeting, and risk management processes preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple schedules across several active projects preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as PSP (AACE), PMI-SP, or PMP considered an asset.
