Foster Care Internship: Cincinnati, OH
National Youth Advocate Program is accepting internship applications for the Foster Care team in Cincinnati, OH for the Spring 2027 semester. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience working with the foster care population and have the opportunity to observe other therapeutic areas throughout the agency to gain insight into the communities and clients we serve. This position works closely with youth, family, foster parents, and community partners.

About the role
This opportunity is for students enrolled in a Bachelor or Master of Social Work program from an accredited college or university. An internship or field placement must be a requirement by the institution, and upon completion, the individual will receive credit toward their pursued degree.
Responsibilities
- Working with foster care youth and foster parents
- Working in case management
- Learning diagnostic assessments and treatment plans
- Assessing and engaging with youth
- Observing interventions for youth
- Interacting with caregivers, parents, foster parents, school staff, office staff, and other mental health professionals
- Learning documentation and paperwork
- Traveling daily to provide community-based services to youth and families
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in either a Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work program from an accredited college or university
- Internship or field placement must be a requirement by the institution
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
Driving and Vehicle Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable personal transportation
- Good driving record
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
