Forklift Operator Material Handler
About the role
Ryder is hiring full-time Warehouse Reach Truck Operators in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position pays $20.00 per hour with overtime pay at $30.00 per hour and shift premium of $1.00 per hour. The schedule includes Monday-Friday shifts from 4:30pm - 3:00am or 2:30pm-11:00pm, with frequent Saturday overtime.
Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions
- Recognize and correct potential process errors before they affect the customer
- Recognize and handle damaged products at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action
- Pull and stage orders accurately according to carrier location and verify quantities
- Prepare receiving, storage, and shipping documentation to maintain product accountability
- Be aware of and follow location and work center safety and security policies and procedures
- Train others in various warehouse functions, including the safe operation of powered industrial lift equipment
- Perform housekeeping duties and other tasks as assigned
- Operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- At least two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience are required
- Ability to read, do basic math, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for safety, work instructions, policies, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to input data into a computer system
- Ability to work overtime as assigned
Qualifications

Pay
The hourly wage is $20.00 with overtime pay at $30.00 per hour and shift premium of $1.00 per hour. The pay is weekly.
