About the Role
You will serve as a pivotal field leader, driving the successful execution of complex excavation and utility projects for a respected family-owned business. This role offers the autonomy to manage high-stakes site operations while receiving the genuine support of a leadership team that treats you like a person, not a number.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily field tasks and resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Supervise the operation of heavy machinery to maintain strict quality standards and equipment longevity.
- Mentor and train crew members on technical tasks to improve production and reduce repetitive errors.
- Administer weekly safety meetings and daily field reports using Raken to ensure project transparency.
- Evaluate site workflows to implement the most efficient construction methods without sacrificing workmanship.
- Collaborate with Superintendents to manage material deliveries, subcontractors, and manpower requirements.
- Resolve on-site technical disputes and logistical hurdles to maintain a positive and productive site culture.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Foreman specifically within excavation, sitework, and heavy equipment operation.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, OSHA guidelines, and equipment maintenance protocols.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting project drawings, specifications, and surveyor grade stakes.
- Proficiency in using site layout tools including lasers, GPS rovers and theodolites.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective reporting and team leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Approximately 5 years of related work experience in civil or commercial construction.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project expenditures and resource allocation.
Pay
$40 to $50+ per hour (based on experience) plus performance-based bonus.
