Foreman - Construction

About the role

The Bypass Foreman provides day-to-day working direction to crews while working under the direction of a superintendent or designee. The foreman is responsible for supervising assigned crews to ensure Bypass projects meet or exceed standards set by SAK/MPS and customer requirements. SAK provides the opportunity to work alongside and learn from some of the most talented professionals in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Meet crews in the morning at the shop, ensuring crews have required equipment, tools, materials, etc.
• Complete/check Job Safety Analysis for accuracy related to daily tasks.
• Ensure job site is clean during and after the project.
• Ensure crews are taking proper care of equipment and tools.
• Manage work sites continuously ensuring no operational delays, and that tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Provide a high-quality, finished product in compliance with customer requirements.
• Assist in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities, equipment requirements, and traffic control needs.
• Advise Superintendents and/or Project Management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc.; assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
• Prepare and submit for review: production, safety, time and other reports, as necessary.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in sewer bypass or similar construction field, such as utility construction.
• Experience managing multiple crews/job sites to be safe and productive.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must be able to travel, as much as 90% based on operational needs.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
