About the role

This position involves assisting with food preparation, transporting goods, preparing trays, sanitizing equipment, delivering meals, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Aids in food preparation including cold food production, baking, and grill relief.
  • Transports items between storage and kitchen, and from kitchen to retail and service equipment.
  • Prepares trays for patients and retail customers.
  • Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
  • Enters patient diet orders and meal/snack orders into the computer system.
  • Assists patients with menu choices to meet their dietary restrictions.
  • Organizes and delivers nourishment supplies to units as ordered.
  • Operates the cash register to accept customer payments and balance receipts daily.
  • Resolves concerns and complaints from customers or refers to supervisor as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Program of Study in Food Service preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
  • General knowledge of cleaning methods, food service equipment, and food preparation and service.
  • Ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic math/cash handling skills to add, subtract, and make change.
  • Basic computer skills; ability to learn new computer software programs.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve to meet the needs of the customer.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.85 - $28.30 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.

Schedule

The schedule is 20 hours per week, typically 4pm to 8:30 pm, with some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
