About the Role
This is a part-time position preparing and selling a variety of cook-to-order food items on a mobile food truck at prescribed Navy Exchange locations.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and sells hot and cold food and beverage items such as frankfurters, cheeseburgers, quesadillas, BBQ sandwiches, French fries, etc., using a grill, microwave oven, and/or deep fryer on a mobile food truck.
- Takes orders, serves customers, and ensures standard prices and portions are applied with a clearly visible price list/menu board.
- Operates a cash register and follows all Navy Exchange cash-handling policies and procedures.
- Loads the food service truck with food and beverages and drives to various locations according to an established schedule and route on and off installation.
- Ensures prescribed routes are followed and scheduled stops are made on time.
- May prepare cold sandwiches, slice meats and cheese, and wrap sandwiches using an automatic wrapper.
- Prepares requisitions for supplies, equipment, and daily resale/consumable items; maintains adequate stock and neat displays.
- Maintains inventory and operation records and prepares required reports.
- Adheres to Navy Exchange customer service standards, including maintaining a neat appearance and wearing a uniform/name tag.
- Provides prompt, friendly service, suggests substitutes when items are unavailable, and presents food attractively.
- Furnishes customers with register receipts and thanks them for their patronage.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license or a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Food Certificate.
- 18 months of experience performing various tasks involving the preparation and serving of food.
- One year of high school education may substitute for 3 months of experience (up to a High School Diploma or GED for 12 months of experience).
Physical Effort & Working Conditions
- Frequently lifts or moves utensils/containers of food weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Constantly stands and walks while performing duties.
- Works in areas that are often uncomfortably warm, cold, or noisy.
- Exposed to minor cuts, bruises, burns, and scalds.
- Risk of slipping on wet floors or dropped food/beverage.

Schedule
Part-time (20 - 34.5 hours per week).
Primary location: United States-Georgia-Kings Bay.
