FOOD SERVICE WORKER-PART TIME W/ BENEFITS

Responsibilities

• Prepares a limited variety of fast food items using a grill, microwave oven, and/or deep fryer.
• Prepares simple salads (e.g., lettuce and tomato) and simple sandwiches.
• Makes coffee in large urns according to established procedures for timing and brewing.
• May clean vegetables and remove meats from packages.
• Sets up food service counters with condiments and stocks hot and cold drink dispensers.
• Cleans tables, counter equipment, and appliances as necessary.
• Takes orders and serves customers following prescribed portioning requirements.
• Replenishes supplies from designated locations.
• May open and/or close the location and operate a cash register.
• Adheres to customer service standards, including maintaining a neat, clean appearance and wearing a uniform/name tag.
• Exercises tact, courtesy, and good manners when assisting customers; suggests substitutes when items are unavailable and informs customers of specials.
• Provides prompt and friendly service, ensuring food items are presented attractively.
• Furnishes customers with register receipts and thanks them for their patronage.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One year of experience in food preparation and serving.
• High school education may substitute for experience (1 year of high school = 3 months of experience, up to a diploma/GED = 12 months of experience).

Physical Effort & Working Conditions

• Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 30 pounds; occasionally up to 45 pounds.
• Constantly stands or walks while performing duties.
• Works in warm and noisy environments.
• Exposed to minor cuts, bruises, burns, and scalds.
• Risk of slipping on wet floors or dropped food/beverages.
