Food Service Worker I (Late Night)
About the role
The University of Georgia is a public research university located in Athens, Georgia. It is one of the oldest public universities in the United States and is part of the University System of Georgia. The university offers a wide range of academic programs across 19 schools and colleges, including its newly established School of Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Assisting cooks and other kitchen personnel in tasks such as cleaning/preparing/serving foods, washing dishes, serving from a serving line, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors.
- Ensuring neatness and cleanliness in preparing, handling, and serving food, and providing courteous service to patrons.
- Care and use of food service equipment including meat slicer, mixing machine, steam cookers, and beverage machines.
- Performing related work as assigned by management.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in food service is preferred but not required.
Qualifications

Skills
Knowledge of safe food handling practices and food preparation skills are preferred but not required.
Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary of $16.923077 per hour, effective July 1, 2026. Benefits eligibility is based on employment status.

Schedule
This position offers a 40-hour workweek within a 4-day schedule. Shifts can vary in time and days, including weekends. Shift hours range between 4:30 PM and 3:30 AM.
