About the role

CoxHealth is a leading healthcare system serving 25 counties across Southwest Missouri and Northern Arkansas, comprising six hospitals, five emergency rooms, and over 80 clinics. The Food Service Assistant works behind the scenes to provide high‑quality food for patients, staff, and other customers, supporting the healing process through nutrition. Facility: Cox North, 1423 N Jefferson Ave, Springfield, Missouri 65802. Department: 1015 Food Services North.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver food with high standards of quality and sanitation.
• Provide customer service, serving, cleaning, and sanitation.
• Maintain a high level of service to internal and external customers.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

Requirements

• Education: None required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: None required.
• Age: Must be 16 years of age or older.

Skills

• Basic reading and writing skills and ability to do simple math.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work as a team player.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
