Food Service Assistant - Part Time - Cox North - Day Shift

About the role

The Food Service Assistant works behind the scenes to provide high‑quality food for patients, staff, and other customers at CoxHealth’s North Food Services department. In a hospital setting, nutrition is crucial to the healing process, and this role supports that process by preparing and delivering food with a high standard of quality and sanitation. The position also involves customer service, serving, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver food while adhering to quality and sanitation standards.
• Provide courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
• Serve meals and respond to food‑service requests.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and service stations.
• Maintain attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• None required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Skills

• Basic reading, writing, and simple math abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as a team player.
• Capability to stand for long periods and move quickly.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
