About the role
The Food Service Assistant works behind the scenes to provide high-quality food for patients, staff, and other customers. In the hospital setting, nutrition is crucial to the healing process, and the Food Service Assistant serves a vital role in helping patients with this process. This position involves performing preparation and delivery of food with a high standard of quality and sanitation. Additional duties include customer service, serving, cleaning, and sanitation.
A high level of customer service to internal and external customers, attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude are required.
Schedule
- Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
- Shift: Day Shift (5:30 AM – 2:00 PM)
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to move quickly
- Basic reading and writing skills and able to do simple math
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to follow directions and work as a team player
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)
