About the Role
The Food Service Assistant works behind the scenes to provide high quality food for patients, staff, and other customers. In the hospital setting, nutrition is crucial to the healing process, and the Food Service Assistant plays a vital role in supporting this process.
Responsibilities
- Performing preparation and delivery of food with a high standard of quality and sanitation.
- Additional duties will include customer service, serving, cleaning, and sanitation.
- A high level of customer service to internal and external customers, attention to detail, teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude is required.
Requirements
- No formal education required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- No prior experience required.
Qualifications
- Basic reading and writing skills and ability to do simple math.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Able to stand for long periods of time and move quickly.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
