About the Role
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations, and guides implementation of business solutions while communicating business objectives to teams.
Responsibilities
- Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives (e.g., Store of the Community, community outreach programs), resolving customer needs, complaints, and issues, and developing action plans to correct deficiencies.
- Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and expense control, monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, and implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, offering recognition, promoting a belonging mindset, and recruiting qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
- Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting business initiatives, communicating goals, measuring progress, identifying improvement opportunities, and promoting continuous learning.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans and utilizing the Open Door Policy.
- Fosters a culture of respect by building high-performing teams, embracing diversity in people and ideas, creating an inclusive workplace, and providing opportunities for associates to thrive.
- Works collaboratively, builds trusting relationships, and communicates with impact to motivate and influence others.

Requirements
- 2 years of college; OR
- 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
- 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms: Successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition: May require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 – $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments based on location.
- Complex Structure adjustments for external challenges.
- State Pay Differential to meet legislative requirements, where applicable.
Associates receive PTO and/or PPTO that can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes, meeting or exceeding paid sick leave laws where applicable.
