About the Role
Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage, the Supervisor, Food and Beverage is responsible for the efficient scheduling and oversight of subordinate employees to continuously improve the quantity and quality of work and ensure efficient, economical operations. This role involves planning, organizing, and addressing employee management concerns.
Responsibilities
- Assists with day-to-day operation of Food and Beverage venues by ensuring the team delivers best-in-class service to all guests while adhering to Enterprise service standards.
- Prioritizes training and understanding of all line-level positions to maintain and elevate brand standards and increase guest satisfaction.
- Collaborates with venue leadership to develop and execute department initiatives that build sales, profitability, and cost control.
- Ensures communication and execution of department-wide fiscal and operational goals.
- Meets and maintains all safety and health requirements, tracks completion of required training, and ensures food is served safely and timely.
- Determines materials, equipment, and facilities needed for efficient operations.
- Ensures cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of the workspace and adjacent areas.
- Ensures safety and security standards are followed.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient department operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, reviewing, and directing work.
- Evaluates and appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees, and addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning for key roles.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in hospitality management, food service, business, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant, customer service, or related experience required.
- Related, relevant, or direct experience may substitute for the minimum educational requirements.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to collaborate and motivate others.
- Ability to delegate, multi-task, lead, and prioritize in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strict adherence to confidentiality and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to provide friendly and efficient service to guests and team members, addressing needs and resolving issues.
- Clear and effective communication with guests and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure and stay calm during busy periods.
Licenses and Certifications
- May be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license at the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission.
- Must obtain and maintain a ServSafe certification.
- Must obtain and maintain a Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
Physical Requirements
- Primary work environment is in a Casino & Resort setting.
- May require travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
- May require working evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strength to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, with constant computer and office machinery use.
- Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Hearing sufficient for conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
- Speech sufficient to be understood in person, in groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
- Visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and inspecting employees, visitors, or facilities.
- Mobility to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and operate a motor vehicle for travel.
- Endurance to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods throughout the work shift.
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke.
