About the role

The Food & Beverage Supervisor coordinates, supervises, and manages all property food and beverage, kitchen, and back-of-house operations while maintaining profitability, high-quality products, and service levels. This role involves promoting business, reducing employee turnover, and meeting revenue and payroll budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage all F&B personnel, ensuring attentive, friendly, and courteous service to guests, managers, and fellow employees.
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.
  • Participate in F&B budgeting, forecasting, and monitor department performance.
  • Monitor industry trends and take action to maintain competitive and profitable operations.
  • Keep the F&B Manager informed of all relevant issues.
  • Coordinate and monitor Loss Prevention in the F&B department.
  • Prepare and submit required reports and inventory documents in a timely manner.
  • Organize and conduct department meetings regularly.
  • Monitor quality of service and product, and cooperate in menu planning and preparation.
  • Ensure timely purchase of F&B items within budget allocation.
  • Oversee operations of the employee cafeteria.
  • Ensure compliance with local liquor laws, health and sanitation regulations, and departmental SOPs.
  • Train staff on SOPs, report preparation, and technical job tasks.
  • Interview candidates for front-of-house and back-of-house F&B positions.
  • Conduct or attend required meetings, including pre-convention and post-convention meetings.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 4-year college degree and 3 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 4+ years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules, and liquor laws.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently (medium work).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and guests.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings.
  • Participate in Management on Duty (M.O.D.) coverage as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance and high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Comply with hotel standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
  • Ability to handle problems, anticipate issues, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
