About the role

This position is responsible for the positive experience of guests through effective communication with all Service Professionals and guests. The candidate must adhere to and follow Food and Beverage culture and vision in accordance with F&B core values.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and train Service Professionals as well as organize ongoing training and development of the existing staff.
  • Be knowledgeable of food & beverage trends.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to provide for optimal performance commensurate to volume.
  • Ensure the adherence to departmental and Hotel guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a supervisor overseeing all aspects of service.
  • Ensure the presentation of food and beverage items are of the highest quality and consistent in preparation.
  • Interact with guests frequently to ensure satisfaction and enjoyment of their dining experience.
  • Coach and re-train employees as necessary for a successful operation.
  • Support other departments as may be necessary for the successful operation of Hotel Bennett.
  • Perform direct service to guests as needed, including, but not limited to, serving tables, bussing tables, and general clerical/cashier duties.
  • Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • Experience in a quality-driven leadership position is preferred but not required.
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Knowledge of all menu items, prices and general service procedures.
  • Basic computational ability.
  • Complete the South Carolina state-approved ServSafe Alcohol Online Course & Exam within 30 days of hire.
  • Possess a valid ABL Server License issued by the state of South Carolina within 30 days of hire.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
  • Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
  • May be required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • Experience in a quality-driven leadership position is preferred but not required.
