About the role

Responsible for performing a variety of resident food service functions that may include patient meal service, food preparation and assembly, and maintaining department and position-related sanitation guidelines. This role operates on a day/evening shift with a schedule of 12 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Assess unit service needs regarding food, paper, dishware, sanitation, and overall cleanliness.
  • Pick up all non-food supplies, diet lists, menus, meal tickets, and restock cabinets.
  • Pick up all food supplies, set up service areas, take temperatures, and record.
  • Serve resident meals according to meal orders taken by CNAs.
  • Clean service areas, including all utensils, trash, and service carts after each meal.
  • Return soiled items and unused food to the dish room after each meal.
  • Clean and sanitize all service items by following the dish machine process after each meal.
  • Return all serving utensils, pans, and pots to the appropriate unit after each meal.
  • Take inventory of all items needed for the next shift and place them into the unit mailbox located in the kitchen.
  • Complete the unit sanitation checklist and submit it to the supervisor before leaving for the day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide care and services demonstrating behaviors and principles of person-centered care, including affording people dignity, respect, and compassion, offering coordinated care, support, and treatment, and ensuring care is personalized.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions in English.
  • Ability to work in a team setting, meet deadlines, and follow processes.
