FOH Manager

About the role

Slows Bar BQ is seeking experienced Assistant General Managers for our flagship Detroit restaurant and our new Ann Arbor location. The AGM is responsible for supporting the General Manager in the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of guest service, and maintaining profitability.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a hands-on leader, managing high-volume shifts and overseeing administrative duties including labor management, inventory, and staff training.
• Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of service staff. Conduct performance reviews and manage scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with local health department regulations, safety standards, and alcohol service laws.
• Manage opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory reporting.
• Cook with the kitchen and bar teams to execute private events, catering orders, and seasonal activations.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of management experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant environment.
• Toast POS fluency a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead a diverse team.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
