About the role

We are seeking a Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Assistant to join our Food Services team at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital. In this role, you will perform a variety of food services for patients, including cleaning and dish room duties, as well as other related tasks. You will work collaboratively with a team that values a supportive and family-like work environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various foods and beverages for patients following established guidelines, recipes, and production sheets.
• Cover, label, and date foods, then store them properly according to procedures.
• Adhere to proper food handling techniques, including wearing gloves, handwashing, using hair coverings, and avoiding eating on the job.
• Prepare and set up food and supplies in sufficient quantity to cover service requirements, restocking as needed.
• Check daily menu needs and complete advance preparation for the next day.
• Help reduce costs by minimizing waste and overproduction, and utilize leftovers appropriately.
• Promptly report food shortages, outdated items, or products received in unacceptable condition.
