About the role

Gastro Health is seeking a Full-Time Floater to join our team. You'll find a collaborative team of coworkers and providers, as well as consistent hours.

Duties

• Daily Duties: Scan procedure reports; assist with recalls; calculate procedure costs; file documentation into eCW system; other duties as assigned.
• Front Desk Duties: Ensure patient has current referral on date of service and obtain referral if necessary; verify insurance benefits and eligibility prior to office visits and procedures; collect all applicable co-payment, coinsurance, deductible or outstanding balance from the patient and post all payments collected; research and assist patients with questions regarding balances including collecting applicable payments.
• Medical Assistant Duties: Triage patient, take vitals, enter chief complaint, past and present history into EMR system; enter all current medications and prescriptions into EMR system; ensure patient charts are complete and required records are requested; call-in new prescriptions and refills and obtain authorization if necessary.
• Care Coordinator Duties: Schedule all procedures to be performed by the physician; obtains all authorizations for procedures and tests; check-out patients at the end of their visit and provide next step instructions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2 years experience as a medical assistant or similar setting (AAMA certification preferred)
• Medical terminology knowledge required
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) (Preferred)
• eClinicalWorks (eCW): 1 year (Preferred)
• GI Experience desired
