Fleet Supervisor

About the role

Independently coordinates and schedules a fleet of drivers according to customer requests in compliance with company rules and DOT regulations to maximize operational performance and customer satisfaction. Supervises activities of drivers and maintains daily communication with the customer on areas impacting operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Coach and counsel drivers in safety, performance, productivity, and morale.
• Supervise all activities of drivers, direct and schedule their work.
• Plan, assign, and distribute daily work while coordinating loads, equipment, and backhauls to achieve maximum fleet utilization.
• Manage work assignments and develop daily delivery plans utilizing equipment, manpower, and other resources for an effective, efficient operation.
• Organize, plan, and implement transportation solutions for assigned customers using the best cost options to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and resolve delivery and scheduling problems through timely communication with customers, drivers, vendors, and other locations.
• Perform administrative functions including payroll, billing, driver counseling, and post-accident reviews.
• Participate in the review and analysis of operating performance.
• Use transportation management systems to ensure all required operational data is accurately captured in near real-time.
• Monitor and promote safety and compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
