What You’ll Do

• Directly supervises day-to-day operations of the Catania Fleet. Assesses risk and safety issues to ensure safety of the fleet team and equipment.
• Directly supervises CDL and Yard drivers to ensure they execute and adhere to strict schedules and pickup/delivery commitments.
• Through utilization of company provided tools, monitors performance of direct reports to ensure a high level of customer service takes place.
• Assists with recording data related to established KPI, and research root causes as needed.
• Conducts regular assessments of the Catania Fleet, including registering and licensing of all vehicles, maintaining detailed records of vehicle service and inspections, and ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), with recommendations for action and continuous improvement.
• Assists in overseeing the upkeep of the garage, yard and all fleet equipment found within each area. Responsible for facilitating schedules with outside contractors who perform snow removal, fuel replenishment, equipment cleaning and other equipment related maintenance tasks.
• Aids in the recruitment of quality drivers for the fleet and yard roles.
• Works with management and HR to develop appropriate training plans and performance improvement for direct reports.
• Collaborates with other departments on cross-department initiatives that drive company success.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) Years of experience within the Logistics field or experience that includes heavy equipment and fleet management
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university is preferred
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft office, Word and Excel
• Experience in working with different technology and systems
• Able to deliver results with integrity and in a responsible and consistent manner
• Skilled in building and maintaining relationships built on trust, both internally and externally
• Strong organizational skills
• Possess a wealth of knowledge, insight, and willingness to continuously learn and utilize the resources/perspectives available to them for improved productivity through innovation
• Able to work on multiple tasks
• Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, tools, equipment and materials for vehicle and equipment maintenance and fleet management
