Fleet Repair Technician B
AAA is seeking an experienced Automotive Repair Technician to join our dynamic Fleet Vehicle Maintenance Team in Chester, VA. This role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with flexible hours.
About the role
The Fleet Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for the accurate and timely repair and maintenance of Club Fleet-owned vehicles and customer vehicles, including passenger vehicles and light and medium-duty trucks. This includes but is not limited to:
- Engine repair (gas and diesel)
- Automatic transmission/transaxle diagnosis and repair
- Manual transmission/transaxle diagnosis and repair
- Suspension and steering diagnosis and repair
- Brakes diagnosis and repair, including ABS/traction control
- Electrical diagnosis and repair
- Heating and air conditioning diagnosis and repair
- Engine performance diagnosis and repair
Additional duties include:
- Completing all paperwork, including repair information on work orders, state and emission inspections, etc., with accuracy
- Verifying repairs are properly completed by re-testing repaired systems and road-testing vehicles as necessary
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of specialized skills and continuing to develop additional technical skills
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 3+ years of applicable experience as an Automotive Technician strongly preferred
- ASE certification in at least 2 categories or equivalent Manufacturer Certification, with the ability to attain required certifications within 12 months of hire
- Valid driver’s license
- Satisfactory pre- and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and motor vehicle screening, and passing a DOT-required physical examination
- Proficient knowledge of PC-based automotive computer equipment and software applications
- Ability to operate passenger vehicles and light- and medium-duty trucks with automatic and manual transmissions
Pay
Pay range: $23.46/hour to $32.95/hour. The base pay range is a guideline; the ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location.
Additional compensation includes a monthly incentive plan.
Schedule
Flexible schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Occasional weekends may be required as needed.
