About the role
Responsible for performing the day-to-day operations of the fuel island and supporting the Transportation and Warehouse department.
Responsibilities
- Drive tractor trailer to fueling island
- Fuel tractor/reefer unit
- Drop and hook tractor/trailer combinations in the proper designated areas as needed
- Conduct visual post trip inspections of trucks for damages upon return from run
- Wash/steam engines and drive train on tractors as well as moving equipment around yard
- Monitor fuel levels and reefer temperatures on backhauls until off loaded
- Monitor and oversee all fuel/DEF deliveries from vendors
- Perform other relevant job duties as required
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and/or equivalent related experience
- Valid Driver’s license (CDL Preferred, but not required)
- Experience driving standard clutch vehicles
- Superior safety record

- Understanding that business responsibilities are 24/7 and may require work outside normal business hours
- Capable and willing to learn how to drive tractor and trailer combination around the yard efficiently and safely
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to forge productive relationships
- Strong time management skills to prioritize goals and efficiently utilize limited resources
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
- Outdoor position - exposed to varying outdoor temperatures year round
- Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures
- Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
