Fleet Auto Mechanic A - Solo - Lubbock, TX, or Hobbs or Roswell, NM

About the role

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles operated by Xcel Energy Corp. This person will be working out of the Lubbock, TX, or Hobbs or Roswell, NM service center location working solo, but will receive work direction from another location. This includes preventive maintenance, minor and major repairs of cars, trucks, aerial devices, construction equipment and other types of equipment operated by the company. This position is a Monday through Friday shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles
• Complete minor and major repairs of various vehicle types
• Work independently and under direction from another location
• Respond to after-hour emergencies, call-outs, and overtime assignments
• Lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks from elevated heights
• Work autonomously and be self-motivated

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Four years of experience in automotive and/or truck maintenance and repair
• Eight or more ASE certifications
• Current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and DOT medical card
• Willingness to work after hours and on call
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work from elevated heights
• Self-motivated and capable of working alone

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 ASE certifications
• Fluid Power Society (FPS) or State Welding certification included
• Current CDL and DOT medical card
• Ability to respond to after-hour emergencies and call-outs
• Physical fitness and ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to work from elevated heights and off ladders
• Self-motivated and capable of working alone

Pay

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $43.33 per hour

Schedule

This position is a Monday through Friday shift.
