About the role
This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles operated by Xcel Energy Corp. This person will be working out of the Roswell, NM service center location. This includes preventive maintenance, minor and major repairs of cars, trucks, aerial devices, construction equipment and other types of equipment operated by the company. This position is a Monday-Friday shift. Candidate must reside within 20 miles from the Roswell, NM service center.
Responsibilities
- Fleet Mechanic A: Preventive maintenance, minor and major repairs of cars, trucks, aerial devices, construction equipment and other types of equipment operated by the company.
- Fleet Mechanic B: Preventive maintenance, minor and major repairs of cars, trucks, aerial devices, construction equipment and other types of equipment operated by the company.
- Fleet Mechanic C: Preventive maintenance, minor and major repairs of cars, trucks, aerial devices, construction equipment and other types of equipment operated by the company.
Requirements
- Fleet Mechanic A: High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in the automotive and/or truck maintenance and repair field; 8 ASE certifications or equivalent; Class A CDL and DOT medical card.
- Fleet Mechanic B: High School Diploma or GED; 3 years of continuous work history in this field; CDL Class A or equivalent; 6 ASE certifications or equivalent.
- Fleet Mechanic C: High School Diploma or GED; 1 year of verifiable experience in the automotive/truck field; CDL Class A or equivalent; ability to read and understand English, perform basic mathematics, and possess basic computer skills.
Qualifications
- Fleet Mechanic A: High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in the automotive and/or truck maintenance and repair field; 8 ASE certifications or equivalent; Class A CDL and DOT medical card.
- Fleet Mechanic B: High School Diploma or GED; 3 years of continuous work history in this field; CDL Class A or equivalent; 6 ASE certifications or equivalent.
- Fleet Mechanic C: High School Diploma or GED; 1 year of verifiable experience in the automotive/truck field; CDL Class A or equivalent; ability to read and understand English, perform basic mathematics, and possess basic computer skills.
Skills
- Fleet Mechanic A: ASE certifications, Fluid Power Society (FPS) certifications, State Welding certification, Manufacturing engine repair and diagnostics, Hydraulic repair and diagnostics, truck and chassis electronics repair and diagnostics.
- Fleet Mechanic B: ASE certifications, FMCSR Parts 382 and 391 compliance, Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A).
- Fleet Mechanic C: ASE certifications, FMCSR Parts 382 and 391 compliance, Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A).

Pay
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $24.56 to $43.33 per hour.
