About the role

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles operated by Xcel Energy Corp. This person will be working out of the Lubbock, TX, or Hobbs or Roswell, NM service center location working solo, but will receive work direction from another location. This includes preventive maintenance, minor and major repairs of cars, trucks, aerial devices, construction equipment and other types of equipment operated by the company. This position is a Monday through Friday shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles
  • Conduct minor and major repairs on various types of vehicles and equipment
  • Work independently and under direction from another location
  • Respond to after-hour emergencies, call-outs, and overtime as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of experience in automotive and/or truck maintenance and repair
  • Minimum of 8 ASE certifications
  • Current Class A CDL and DOT medical card
  • Willingness to work from elevated heights and off ladders
  • Self-motivated and capable of working alone

Qualifications

  • Eight or more certifications from Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
  • Fluid Power Society (FPS) or State Welding certification (included in required certifications)
  • Current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Pay

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $43.33 per hour

Schedule

This position is a Monday through Friday shift.
