Job Description

This position is responsible for the creation, implementation, registration, record-keeping, and delivery of wellness programs. This position will also lead assigned aquatic functions and ensuring safety is a top priority. The ideal candidate must have a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality program, combined with the ability to manage the administrative components of the job. Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary to ensure that members and participants have a high-quality experience at the Y.
Qualifications
- Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or 3 years of related experience.
- 1-2 years of related experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Certifications: ASHI Basic Life Support (ASHI CPR Pro), First Aid, Lifeguard Certification and Swim Instructor Certification preferred.
- Background & Experience:
- Supervisory experience in a member/customer service-related role required.
- Flexibility in work schedule, including evenings and some weekends.
- Excellent organizational, member engagement, staff development, administrative, and communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience working with diverse populations preferred.
- High energy, positive, "can do" attitude, flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail and a high degree of initiative will help this candidate be successful.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for creating and fostering a strong atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation among staff (example: group exercise, wellness coaches, personal trainers, lifeguards, and swim instructors).
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring healthy living staff and aquatics staff, subject to the approval of the Executive Director.
- Responsible for maintaining a constant focus on member service as the number one priority of the healthy living and aquatic departments.
- Responsible for the daily supervision, leadership and scheduling of classes and personal training sessions.
- Manage aquatic programs, enrollments and registrations, marketing of programs and member/participant experience. Monitor program usage, check-in and service procedures, cancellations and changes. Ensure the accurate processing and management of program software systems including Daxko and others.
- Track program usage, inquiries, terminations, etc.; prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports and schedules; collect and distribute program evaluations, conduct quality checks and satisfaction surveys.
- Assist with Member relations and involvement, member service inquiries, complaints and concerns related to the aquatic and wellness department. Responsible for new program sign-ups and program needs. May process financial assistance request.
- May be responsible for class attendance counts, monthly schedule and healthy lifestyle and aquatics staff payroll.
- Assists with promoting program awareness through publications, marketing materials and member promotions.
- Participate in facility and community events.
- Assists in maintenance of fitness equipment and weekly/monthly checklist reports for both Wellness and Aquatic Departments.
- Assists with employee and member wellness and aquatic activities.
- Assists with fundraising and special event efforts; serve as a staff liaison for fundraising team. Provide staff leadership for branch special events.
- Responsible for attendance at all required meetings and YMCA activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits
The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth offers a competitive salary and benefits package for selected candidates. The yearly salary range for this position is $14-$17/hr and will be commensurate with the selected candidate's experience. The YMCA provides competitive health, dental, and vision benefits.
