About the role
The Fiscal Specialist 2 – College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CSTEM) position supports the CSTEM Dean’s Office. Reporting to the College Director of Finance & Administrative Services, this role provides fiscal assistance and administrative management within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CSTEM).
Responsibilities
- Analyzing and developing budgets for grants, contracts, state funds, and/or program funds.
- Establishing and maintaining cost center and/or self-sustaining accounts.
- Maintaining professional fee records.
- Cooking reimbursement, purchasing, payroll support, and fiscal planning.
- Interpreting and applying rules and regulations to resolve problems.
- Advising faculty and staff regarding applicable policies and procedures.
- Recommend alternative courses of action.
Requirements
- AAS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Three years of successful full-time work experience using a variety of software programs including Microsoft Suite, Google Docs, Adobe, etc.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and a high level of professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a superior level of organization.
- Experience maintaining electronic records and files.
- Demonstrated success handling a demanding workload with overlapping deadlines and requiring great attention to detail, perseverance, initiative, and ability to function equally well taking direction and working independently.
- Flexible approach that is supportive of the needs including universal access of our students, faculty, staff and the public.
Qualifications
- Two or more years’ experience performing fiscal/budgetary responsibilities in a college or university environment.
- Advanced experience working with Excel &/or Google Sheets, including: demonstrated ability to develop complex spreadsheets using advanced features, working knowledge of excel/google sheets formulas and functions, and ability to create spreadsheets to develop and maintain records.
- One-year full time work experience demonstrating success in handling communications with a variety of different kinds of internal and external clients, such as federal, state, city, and county government agencies, professionals in the community, internal staff/managers/administrators, students, and other constituents.
- Experience in managing fiscal/budgetary responsibilities for grants, contracts, and/or sponsored programs.

Pay
The salary for this position is $47,940 to $53,952. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.
Schedule
Regular work schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with the possibility of teleworking according to university policy and occasional nights and weekends.
