Fiscal Specialist 2
About the role
The Fiscal Specialist 2 in Information Technology Services (ITS) supports a diverse technology organization serving the Washington State University community. Key responsibilities include processing purchasing transactions, administering payroll and personnel-related fiscal activities, monitoring and reconciling budgets and expenditures, preparing financial reports and analyses, managing procurement activities, and maintaining financial records in accordance with university, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities

- Prepare financial reports and analyses
- Manage procurement activities, including purchasing card reconciliation and compliance
- Maintain financial records in accordance with university, state, and federal regulations
Requirements
- Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist 1 AND 15 quarter hours OR 10 semester hours of college level accounting; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, and information management systems.
- Demonstrated fiscal administrative experience relating to budgeting, funding, purchasing, billing and/or travel.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability of multi-tasking, priority planning, and flexibility.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to use independent judgment, tact and diplomacy.
Qualifications

- Professional experience working in higher education.
- Experience in providing fiscal support in an information technology environment.
- Experience with project management.
- Experience drafting service contracts and other technical agreements.
- Experience with Workday ERP and HCM applications.
- Experience with WSU policies and procedures including purchasing rules and guidelines.

$3,917 to $5,240 (Steps A-M) | Range 43
