Fire System Specialist

Duties

• Works under the supervision of the Director and/or Facility Manager.
• Primarily responsible for managing and maintaining fire detection, alarm, and suppression equipment & systems.
• Responsible for Life Safety, Regulatory Readiness, coordination with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ's) for the hospitals and clinics.
• Implement and maintain all documentation for inspection(s) and stay current of National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), Joint Commission, American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and other regulatory bodies/codes.
• Performs monthly, bi-annual, and annual National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code inspections, maintains inspection and certification records, troubleshoots problems, and performs daily maintenance on all fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
• Establishes inspection criteria to meet all state and federal fire codes.
• Serve as maintenance liaison for environmental tour group for the EOC tours of all the departments in the complex and outside clinics.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Driver's Licence - Valid And In State - Missouri Class E Drivers License within 90 days is required.
• FEMA Incident Command System 100, 200, and 700 certifications within 1 year is required.
• OSHA 10 within 90 days is required.
• Certification from NFPA related to Fire and/or life safety.
• Health Care based is preferred.
• 5 Years of regulatory/Code/Life Safety or related experience is required.
• 5 Years of experience in coordination/delegation of work is required.
• 3 Years of experience in budget/performance reporting and/or oversight is preferred.
• 3 Years of experience Maintenance/Facilities related support environment is preferred.
