How You Will Do It

  • Assists the responsible person in performing the required duties for completion of install related tasks for electronic product lines and standard electronic systems.
  • Observes the actions of the responsible person(s) and applies as directed.
  • Helps with installation of electronic systems, including start up through final testing.
  • Follows verbal and written instruction, reads and understands complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities.
  • Carries/moves equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Performs work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Picks up and properly disposes of all trash associated with SimplexGrinnell work.
  • Wears appropriate safety equipment as required, including but not limited to hard hats and work boots.
  • May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
  • Daily submission of required paperwork.

Required

  • Knowledge of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams and specifications used in installation activities
  • Construction Experience Required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Successful completion of drug screen and background check
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly
  • Preferred: Experience in an electrical trade preferred. Low voltage experience is a plus
