Responsibilities

  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times, ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
  • Assist in the testing, programming, and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Service fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programming of Fire Alarm Systems, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
  • Execute all work in accordance with local and national codes, general best practices, and company health and safety policies.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members to improve overall operations.
  • Stay updated on company policies.
  • Present a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behavior.
  • Participate in our Recruit Awesome People program to help grow Convergint by referring top talent.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
  • Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
  • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and seek solutions.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., works with hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis; minimal overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years as a fire alarm service technician with experience in programming EST 3 or EST 4 (Edwards) fire alarm systems or similar complexity.
  • Preferred (but not required): 2 years of hands-on experience in the commercial/industrial/low voltage/electrical industry.
  • NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm (preferred).
  • Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology or Instrumentation (preferred).
