Financial Controller (Huntsville, AL)

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the accounting and finance function at a growing manufacturer of automation and robotic solutions. Reporting to the CFO, this role will provide financial oversight, support strategic decision-making, and drive overall business performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly close process and ensure the timely delivery of accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Provide financial analysis and insights on business performance, profitability, operational trends, and key performance indicators.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Manage cost accounting processes, including product costing, inventory analysis, labor efficiency, and manufacturing variances.
• Develop financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools to support leadership decision-making.
• Maintain strong internal controls and oversee general ledger activities, reconciliation, and compliance requirements.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff while fostering accountability and improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or engineering fields.
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting.
