Responsibilities

  • Processing all financial transactions within an assigned portfolio that includes accounts receivable, accounts payable, procurement, coordinating the purchasing card reconciliation process for all departmental purchasing cards, processing expense reports, purchase orders, journal entries, and redistributions, paying invoices and reconciling purchase orders.
  • Ensuring departmental compliance with all relevant university financial policies, maintaining complete documentation, and serving as liaison with internal financial services partners.
  • Processing departmental purchasing card activities (including reconciliation)
  • Managing a significant volume of transactions on multiple cards with competing deadlines
  • Communicating with purchasers and vendors to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures (E.G. obtaining receipts, itemizing expenses, and tax exemptions)
  • Processing purchase orders, invoices, journal entries and expense reports for departmental accounts.
  • Cooking and communicating with key partners such as staff, students, external vendors, Accounts Payable, and Procurement Services

Qualifications

  • A High School or GED required
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
  • 3-5 years of bookkeeping, accounts payable, data entry or administrative support experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred
