About the role
The Financial Analyst exists to provide financial and administrative analysis and support for work of the Child and Family Health division. This position will assist in fiscal oversight of contracts, annual plans, outgoing grants, grantee financial reviews, invoice processing, purchase orders, and other activities as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Respond to inquiries from grant managers, grantees or other stakeholders related to budgets, invoices or payments.
- Troubleshoot problems and communicate to management any problems or concerns encountered.
- Support fiscal oversight of contracts, annual plans, outgoing grants, grantee financial reviews, invoice processing, purchase orders, and other activities as appropriate.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analyses as needed.
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience supporting business administration, accounting functions or another closely related function within an organization.
- Experience reviewing and auditing general ledgers and invoices.
- Experience reconciling general ledgers and invoices.
- Experience in processing deposits, purchase orders and/or vendor invoices.
- Experience working in spreadsheet and database programs.
Qualifications
- Doctorate or JD may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
- A master's degree may substitute for eighteen (18) months of experience.
- A bachelor's degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
- An associate's degree may substitute for six (6) months of experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of MDH Financial policies and procedures.
- Experience working in SWIFT and OBIEE.
- Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations related to budgets, reporting and auditing requirements.

Pay
$24.40 - $35.30 / hourly; $50,947 - $73,706 / annually
