Overview
The Financial Analyst is responsible for a variety of financial and analytical duties associated with the Dick’s Media Network.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Aid in the preparation of assigned components of the annual Company budget.
- Scope may include sales, gross profit, operating expenses, administrative expenses and capital expenditures.
- Analyze variances vs budget and historical results.
- Identify key drivers and trends.
- Work with business partners to update the forecast.
- Proactively address forecast accuracy issues.
- Identify forecast risks and opportunities.
- Monthly Close
- Complete month-end closing activities which may include journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Assist with management reporting in support of our financial close cycle.
- Reporting & Financial Analysis
- Compile, validate and summarize financial information submitted by other business areas.
- Support weekly financial reporting that drives business discussions and decisions.
- Aid in new business initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Finance Operations
- Partner with Accounting Operations to manage the billing function.
- Partner with Expense Payables to manage purchase orders and monitor payments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Three to five years of finance or marketing experience
- Proficient in Excel
- Financial Modeling Skills
- Peoplesoft Experience
- Hyperion Budgeting and Forecast System
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task
