About the Role
The Financial Analyst serves as a trusted resource to CTE leadership and the broader FP&A team. This role supports department management in achieving business objectives, developing action plans, and forecasting results based on performance and changes to these plans. The position plays a key role in preparing the annual budget and periodic forecasts in collaboration with management. Additionally, the Financial Analyst identifies operational drivers impacting results by analyzing data, converting it into meaningful KPIs, and providing actionable business intelligence and recommendations for continuous improvement.
The FP&A role bridges operations and sources of capital, linking these critical areas to drive the business toward its highest performance.
Responsibilities
- Business Advisory Services
- Calculates KPIs (operational and financial), prepares performance dashboards, interprets and presents results, and assists in developing plans to address high-priority opportunities.
- Identifies trends and offers advice to mitigate or control costs.
- Participates in developing the annual financial plan, runs sensitivity analyses, and ensures consistency in financial modeling routines.
- Partners with the broader FP&A team to support initiatives aimed at profitably growing the business and meeting strategic goals.
- Assists in change management by developing clear process roadmaps and embracing continuous improvement.
- Financial / Compliance
- Ensures internal controls are in place, functioning properly, and sufficient to protect company assets and the credibility of financial results.
- Prepares periodic forecasts for near-term company planning purposes.
- Participates in the month- and year-end close process by reviewing financial statements, noting anomalies for research and correction, and identifying missing expenses requiring accrual.
- Provides analysis of monthly budget variances and identifies ongoing changes to expense run-rates.
- Performs ad hoc analysis and projects as requested by management.
- Process Improvement
- Works with operations to identify cumbersome processes, assesses whether existing processes alleviate other functional issues, and determines net benefits across multiple functions.
- Designs alternative processes in concert with operations and makes recommendations to the FP&A team and broader finance organization.
- Assists in implementing new processes, works with training staff to document and train impacted individuals, and monitors acceptance and performance of these new processes.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required.
- Zero to two years of finance or accounting experience and/or training requiring a high degree of analytical ability; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Excel.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- SAP experience preferred.
- IBM Planning Analytics experience preferred.
- Advanced business and/or financial certifications a plus (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA, CGMA, CPM, etc.).

The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.
