Position Summary
The Financial Analyst reports directly to the Finance, Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager and supports the organization's financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This role assists in preparing financial analyses, management reports, and budget information while helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial and operational data.
Essential Functions
- Aid in preparing recurring financial, operational, and management reports for leadership and department stakeholders;
- Assist in reviewing actual results against budget, performing variance analysis, and identifying key drivers, trends, and risks;
- Identify discrepancies and prepare or coordinate necessary reclassifications and General Ledger adjustments;
- Support the FP&A Manager in serving as a Finance business partner to operating departments and initiative funds, providing financial reporting, analysis, and budget support to help stakeholders understand their financial information and make informed decisions;
- Utilize Salesforce reporting tools to create, maintain, and distribute reports and dashboards that support financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making;
- Partner with and support the FP&A Manager in the preparation, maintenance, and monitoring of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting;
- Create and maintain ad hoc reports, dashboards, and analytical tools in Salesforce, Excel, and other reporting platforms;
- Aid in developing training materials and reporting documentation as needed;
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automation, and the usability of financial and operational data.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
- Work closely with the FP&A Manager and broader Finance team to support departmental priorities, special projects, and emerging business needs;
- Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to support team and organizational priorities as needed, contributing to a collaborative, non-siloed environment;
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, financial analysis, or a related field;
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field is welcome but not required.
Skills, Abilities, Competencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis;
- Strong experience with financial reporting, variance analysis, budget-to-actual reporting, and account reconciliations;
- Experience creating reports and dashboards in Salesforce, or a comparable CRM;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and data accuracy;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
- Ability to analyze information, exercise sound judgment, and work independently while managing competing demands;
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build positive working relationships;
- Flexible, team-oriented work style with a willingness to support team and organizational priorities as needed.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Ability to work at workstation for long periods of time;
- Ability to use a computer keyboard for extended periods of time;
- Ability to work on site and remotely as required.
