The position offers the opportunity to contribute to budgeting, reporting, and performance analysis in a collaborative public-sector environment.

  • Review budget-to-actual results, identify key variances, and explain financial performance to internal stakeholders.
  • Gather, organize, and interpret financial and operational data from multiple sources to support reporting and decision-making.
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses that help leadership assess costs, risks, and resource allocation needs.
  • Monitor financial activity and recommend process improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and reporting quality.
  • Partner with accounting, operations, and management teams to deliver timely insights on fiscal performance and planning priorities.
  • Create clear reports and presentations that summarize findings, highlight issues, and outline actionable recommendations.
  • Assist with ongoing analytical initiatives, including data validation and updates to financial reporting or modeling processes when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Financial Analyst, Senior Accountant, Business Analyst, or similar analytical role.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis, modeling, and detailed data gathering.
  • Experience conducting variance analysis and preparing ad hoc financial reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in working with large datasets and applying data mining techniques to identify trends and issues.
  • Ability to communicate financial findings clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound problem-solving skills in a deadline-driven environment.
