Financial Analyst
About the role
Leech Tishman is seeking to hire a Financial Analyst to work in our Pittsburgh, PA office. The Financial Analyst will assist with general accounting, financial planning, analysis, and reporting tasks, supporting the Controller and Director of Financial Reporting. This role helps drive strategic decision-making by preparing and analyzing financial performance, budgets, forecasting revenue and expenses, and evaluating profitability across practice groups, clients, and attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Generate financial dashboards and management reports for Finance Team and Executive Leadership
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including realization rates, utilization, collections, and profitability
- Aid in attorney incentive compensation and bonus calculations
- Conduct trend analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement
- Aid in financial modeling and scenario analysis
- Serve as a backup resource for trust accounting functions and related compliance requirements
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for key accounts
- Collaborate with accounting, billing, payroll, and HR departments as needed
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within reporting systems
- Support audits and compliance reporting as needed
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement operational efficiencies
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses
- Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, and productivity metrics
- Participate in the potential implementation, enhancement, and optimization of ERP and financial management systems
- Leverage technology and automation tools to improve financial reporting and analytics capabilities
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, including AI-driven financial platforms and advanced business intelligence solutions, and recommend innovative applications within the firm
Qualifications and Skills
- Understand financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis
- Familiarity with trust accounting principles and compliance requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong systems aptitude and continuous improvement mindset
- Experience participating in or supporting ERP system implementation projects preferred
- Experience with legal accounting or practice management software preferred
- Knowledge of law firm economics, billing structures, and profitability metrics preferred
- Experience with Elite 3E, Aderant, or similar systems preferred
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
- 3-5 years of financial analysis experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
Working Conditions
- Primarily an office environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
- Regularly navigates the office and uses office equipment (phones, copier, printer, etc.)
- Consistently uses a computer and other equipment that requires keyboarding
- Prolonged periods of focus and attention to detail
- Consistently requires communication with others (phone, email, in person, Teams, etc.)
- Regularly engages in activities that have productivity and time driven requirements

Position Details
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position
- The position is to be performed in person in our Pittsburgh, PA office
- The Financial Analyst will be a part of the Finance Team and will report to the Controller and Director of Financial Reporting
- This is a non-supervisory position
- Occasional overtime may be required during budget cycles, system implementations, or month-end closes
