Financial Analyst
About the role
The Housing Authority of the City of Salem is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join their accounting team. This position is offered by the Salem Housing Authority, a separate employer from the City of Salem.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes codes and regulations to make financial decisions
- Performs high-level accounting services in property accounting, grant management, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Maintains federal fixed asset inventory control records
- Reconciles the general ledger
- Set up and design financial reports for accuracy and sustainability
- Assists with preparing and reviewing annual budgets for various programs and developments
- Ensures accuracy of ledgers and reports through attention to detail in calculations
- Uses Power BI, Excel, SQL, and Access for data analysis and reporting
- Works independently, manages assigned responsibilities, and exercises initiative
- Fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace
Requirements
- Must pass the pre-employment background check
- Reliable transportation to work sites, events, trainings, and meetings
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field
- Five years of experience in accounting, finance, audits, or related fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Qualifications
- Self-motivated and capable of exercising initiative and making independent judgments
- Knowledgeable in analyzing, researching, organizing, and compiling data into meaningful reports
- Experience working independently and managing assigned responsibilities
- Experience fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace

Schedule
Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Pay
Competitive pay with a base salary within the listed range based on experience, skills, and education.
