Job Summary
Supports the Assistant Vice President of Enterprise Partnerships in identifying, evaluating, and advancing new business opportunities and revenue-generating initiatives for the university. Conducts financial analysis, market research, and due diligence to inform strategic decision-making. Leads and supports process improvement initiatives within the Division of Finance and Administration to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Credits financial analysis and develops pro forma models to evaluate new business opportunities, potential revenue-generating ventures, and strategic partnerships under consideration by the AVP, including NPV, IRR, and scenario analysis.
- Researches comparable transactions, market benchmarks, and industry data to inform the financial assessment of prospective business partnerships; maintains a library of comparable data for reference in future evaluations.
- Supports the due diligence process for business opportunities by gathering, organizing, and analyzing financial, operational, and market data from internal and external sources; identifies key risks and presents findings to the AVP.
- Prepares executive-level briefing materials, financial summaries, and presentation decks that communicate key findings, risks, and investment recommendations to the AVP and senior university leadership.
- Develops and maintains financial performance tracking models for active enterprise partnerships, including revenue projections, cost monitoring, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards; presents periodic summary findings and recommendations to the AVP.
- Identifies and evaluates process improvement opportunities affecting the Division of Finance and Administration; documents current-state workflows using process mapping techniques, designs future-state processes, and quantifies expected efficiency gains and cost impacts.
- Supports the development and evaluation of competitive solicitations related to enterprise partnerships, including analysis of submitted proposals and financial terms to facilitate informed decision-making by the AVP.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders across Finance and Administration and other university units to gather data, align on objectives, and facilitate the AVP's strategic initiatives and process improvement projects.
- Acts as the subject matter expert on financial analysis methodologies for enterprise partnerships. Monitors relevant laws, regulations, and policies applicable to public university partnerships, real estate transactions, and revenue-generating activities, and advises the AVP on compliance considerations and needed policy updates.
- Maintains organized records of all financial analyses, partnership evaluations, and process improvement deliverables in accordance with the university's record retention policy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience or Master's degree and three (3) years of related experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in financial modeling and business case development, including pro forma analysis, NPV/IRR, and scenario modeling for partnerships or revenue-generating ventures.
- Proficiency with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel) to produce executive-ready dashboards and presentations.
- Strong market research and competitive benchmarking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, or process mapping) as applied in a higher education or public sector environment.
