Responsibilities
- Financial Aid Operations and Transmittals: Coordinate and process financial aid transmittals and related documentation to support accurate and timely disbursement of federal, state, institutional, and external aid programs. Review eligibility, enrollment status, and credit-hour loads to ensure compliance with regulatory, programmatic, and institutional requirements. Conduct pre- and post-disbursement reviews of individual student financial aid files, identify discrepancies or errors, and resolve issues in collaboration with the Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations.
- Veteran Benefits Coordination: Administer Veterans Affairs education benefits in accordance with federal law, VA guidance, and institutional policy. Process initial and ongoing VA certifications, enrollment changes, and adjustments for eligible chapters. Monitor regulatory updates, implement procedural changes, maintain accurate VA records, and serve as a point of contact for student veterans and eligible dependents regarding enrollment status, benefit usage, and reporting requirements.
- Compliance and Audit Support: Support compliance with federal Title IV, VA, state, and institutional requirements through routine and targeted audits of student financial aid records. Prepare documentation for internal and external audits, respond to audit inquiries, and collaborate with compliance-focused staff to resolve findings and strengthen internal controls. Maintain detailed tracking and documentation for transparency and continuous improvement.
- Collaboration and Process Improvement: Work collaboratively with the Associate Directors of Financial Aid Operations and Compliance, and Counseling staff within a shared leadership structure to support a consistent, compliant, and student-centered aid process. Contribute to the development and refinement of procedures, checklists, and internal controls related to transmittals, VA processing, and file audits. Participate in training and cross-training to remain current on regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- At least two years of professional experience in financial aid, accounting, financial services, or a related field.

- Experience in higher education.
