Financial Aid Officer

Essential Functions

  • Aid students in navigating the financial aid process.
  • Complete applications, verify documents, and submit required forms.
  • Conduct financial aid presentations and individual counseling sessions.
  • Evaluate student financial aid applications.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student financial aid records.
  • Resolve complex financial aid issues and provide excellent service to students.
  • Stay updated with changes in financial aid regulations.
  • Develop and implement financial aid policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Previous experience in financial aid or student services.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proficient in computer applications and Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

$25-$28/hr. (Salary is based on experience and education.)

Work Environment

  • Standard office/classroom/lab or clinical setting.
  • Duties are typically performed while sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
  • May include time spent in skills labs or bedside environments as required by the program.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions, noise from talking or office equipment, and demanding timelines.
  • Regularly sits for extended periods.
  • Physical ability to perform program- or department-related duties.
  • Proficient in using electronic keyboards and office equipment.
  • Effective verbal communication via phone and in person.
  • Able to read fine print, operate computers, and understand voices clearly.
  • Able to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing 10-25 pounds as needed.
