Job Overview

The Business Officer of Student Affairs is looking to hire a Financial Administrator 2 to provide support to the following offices: Student Conduct & Community Standards, Dean of Students Office (including the Bearcat Pantry & Resource Center), and Resident Education and Development (RED).

Essential Functions

  • Oversee daily processing and accounting functions; ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with university, local, state and federal requirements and standard accounting and audit procedures including all compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepare budgets, collaborate with functional units to develop forecasts, monitor and report on financial results, comprehend and enforce the University’s financial policies, and offer guidance to leadership.
  • Maintain the financial status of budgetary allocations.
  • Coordinate personnel functions for a functional area.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and standard workflows for navigating and utilizing the Concur system.
  • Communicate fiscal policy updates to the department, promoting awareness and compliance.
  • Process supplier payments and manage other financial transactions within university financial systems (PACE).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental needs.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

  • Two (2) years of finance or accounting experience.

Additional Qualifications

  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Experience with Microsoft office (Power BI and Excel).
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Higher Ed Experience.
